Slyšel jsem, že se chystá PCI-E 2.0. Nemá někdo bližší informace, kdy by měli vyjít přivní motherboardy podporující tuto technologii?

bylo by asi fajn zmínit v čem je hlavní přínos PCI Express 2.0:

propustnost zvýšena z 250MB/s na 500MB/s
možnost dynamicky měnit rychlost
zvýšené možnosti napájení
a bude zpětně kompatibilní (konečně jim to došlo)

Chtel bych videt vyraz ve tvari clovek co si nedavno koupil desku s chipsetem Intel P965 a zjistil ze ma jen PCIe 1.0a a tudiz mu PCIe 2.0 karty nepujdou I kdyz kdo vi karty este nejsou na trhu tak mozna budou podporovat PCIe 2.0 karty i PCIe 1.0a desky... Ale moc bych na to nesazel

Dočasně jako důležité, jen by mě zajímalo kde jsi našel tu zpětnou podporu jen pro PCIe 1.1?

Edit: No, tak nevím, ale podle PCI-SIG FAQ by měla být PCIe 2.0 zpětně kompatibilní s PCIe 1.0 i 1.1:

This motherboard comes with the support of different PCI express specification on different PCI express slots.
The PCIEX16_1 slot has been designed based on PCI express 1.1 specification, while PCIEX16_2 slots adopts PCI express 1.0/1.0a specification.
As PCI express 1.0/1.0a standard is not compatible with PCI express 2.0 specification, installing PCI express 2.0 cards onto PCIEX16_2 slot will result in system fail to detect expension cards installed on both PCIEX16_1 and PCIEX16_2 slot.

Note: The above limitation does not apply when installing PCI express 2.0 cards onto PCIEX16_1 slot, as PCI express 2.0 is backward compatible with PCI express 1.1 standard.

Intel P35 - tady nekdo rika ze ano, nekdo zase ze ne... nevim... jestli ma podporu tak se ji nejak moc nechlubi...
Intel X38 - ten se podporou PCIe 2.0 pro zmenu chlubi kde muze

Problems will happen

With Asus latests P35 gaming boards, the Blitz Extreme and Blitz Formula, which are using an IDT chip to give you two x8 PCI Express slots instead of the normal x16 and x4 configuration of the P35 chipset, a problem has occured on the Asus FAQ.

It seems that the second slot is PCI Express 1.0/1.0a only and according to Asus, this older PCI Express standard isn't compatible with PCI Express 2.0.

The primary slot is PCI Express 1.1 and it doesn't have this problem as this version of PCI Express is compatible with the upcoming 2.0 standard.

So what's the significance of this? Well, it means that you won't be able to use newer PCI Express 2.0 cards with several motherboard, not just these ones, as if your board has a 1.0 or 1.0a PCI Express slot, a PCI Express 2.0 card won't work in those slots.
