Čtyři chladicí věže v testu

V dnešním testu jsme představili čtyři procesorové chladiče vyšší střední třídy, které mají kromě podobné ceny společné také provedení. Všechny jsou to věžovité modely vyrobené z mědi, hliníku a několika heatpipe ohnutých do písmene U a vybavené jedním 120mm ventilátorem.



Co jsme tedy zjistili? Co se týče kompatibility a montážních systémů, pochválit můžeme především Cooler Master a jeho Hyper 612S, jehož instalace je snadná a chladič pak drží velmi pevně. Scythe Mugen 3 má instalaci o něco složitější, ale výsledek je také dobrý a v případě Arcticu a Xilence si nemůžeme na socketu AMD vybrat orientaci chladičů a pak u Freezer 13 Pro CO nedrží tak pevně jako ostatní modely a M606 má zase složitou a nepohodlnou instalaci.

Co se týče toho nejdůležitějšího - chladicího výkonu, pak zde se jako nejlepší ukázal Scythe Mugen 3, který překonal i výrazně dražší Noctuu NH-U12P. Nepočítaje ji jako druhý skončil rovněž slušně výkonný Cooler Master Hyper 612S, za ním s menším odstupem Arctic Freezer 13 Pro CO a pak trošku překvapivě až jako poslední s výrazným odstupem Xilence M606. Arctic má však jednu výhodu - má také malý ventilátorek, jenž má na starosti chlazení okolí socketu, což se ukázalo jako účinné řešení. Slibuje také schopnost nepřetržité práce, ale pokud byste se bez tohoto obešli, můžete se poohlédnout po základní verzi Freezeru 13 Pro a ušetřit několik stokorun.

Neméně důležitá je také hlučnost, kde Scythe Mugen 3 s tichým ventilátorkem neprojevujícím se žádnými nechtěnými z ložisek či cívek také nezklamal, zatímco Hyper 612S v nižších otáčkách vrčel a Arctic zase měl vyšší "aerodynamický hluk". Xilence M606 na tom nebyl nijak špatně, ovšem toho už bohužel pohřbil jeho slabý výkon v testech chlazení.

Pokud tedy vezmeme vše v úvahu, je jasné, že nejlepší výkon předvedl Scythe Mugen 3, který si zaslouží ocenění TREFA Světa hardware.



In today's test we introduced four new processor coolers that belong to the upper mid-range segment and besides that they also have common design. All of them are towers made of copper, alumininum and several U-shaped heatpipes and they also use one 120mm fan.

Well, what did we find out? First, the compatibility and installation, in this aspect we can praise especially Cooler Master and their Hyper 612S, since it is easy to install and then it holds firmly and securely. Scythe Mugen 3 is a bit harder to install, but then it also holds firmly. The tested Arctic and Xilence coolers, on the other hand, have some issues in this respect. On AMD sockets we cannot choose their orientation and then the Freezer 13 Pro CO does not hold firm and the M606 is uneasy to install properly.

The most important aspect - cooling performance - is the strong point of Scythe Mugen 3 which managed to outperform also significantly more expensive Noctua NH-U12P. The second place (w/o regards to Noctua) belongs to Cooler Master Hyper 612S which is also a powerful cooler, then there is Arctic Freezer 13 Pro CO and finally and quite suprisingly - Xilence M606 as the last with a significant performance gap. However, the tested Arctic model has one advantage - a small fan on its base that is able to effectively cool the surroundings of the socket. It also should be capable of continuous operation, which is included in its name, but in case you are not interested in such function, you may choose the basic version of Freezer 13 Pro and save a few hunded crowns.

And last, but definitely not least, acoustic noise. Scythe Mugen 3 managed to convince us about its high qualities also thanks to its low noise (including its fan). CM Hyper 612S unfortunately whirred in low RPM setting and Arctic's fan created quite a lot of "aerodynamic" noise. Xilence M606 was similarly to Mugen 3 a low-noise cooler, but that cannot make up for its weak cooling performance.

Consequently, it is clear that there is one cooler that managed to outshine the others basically in all the aspects. It was Scythe Mugen 3 that deserves the TREFA prize of Svět hardware.
